Schroth Method for Scoliosis

At Ergo, we specialize in the Schroth method, a physical therapy approach for scoliosis. The Schroth Method uses scoliosis-specific therapeutic exercises and hands-on techniques, tailored to your spinal conditions. The treatment focuses on developing strength, posture, breathing techniques, and movement habits.

For effective treatment, it is important to know your 3D presentation of scoliosis in order to halt or decrease curve progression. Our Schroth-certified physical therapists will assess and explain what is the type and degree of your scoliosis. Through the Schroth Method treatment sessions, we will teach you how to self-elongate and re-shape the body with corrective breathing techniques, so you can maintain postural correction and carry over to daily activities.

Ergonomic Work Station Assessment

Unfortunately, many of our patients arrive to our office with already established injuries that, unknowingly, derive from poor ergonomics of their work place. One of Ergo’s specialties is to identify whether your problem may be a result of poor ergonomics. We can assess your work environment and adjust your workplace to best suit you. This assessment is done as a form of treatment or ideally, for prevention. We will provide you with the necessary education regarding this rapidly growing topic, point out any poor postural and movement habits and provide you with a program to correct it. What is Ergonomics?

Ergonomics is the scientific study of people in their work environment. One of the goals of ergonomics is to design the job site or workstation to fit the individual worker. Implementing ergonomic solutions can make employees more comfortable, increase productivity and prevent development and accumulation of related injuries.

Why is Ergonomics Important?

Ergonomics is important because when you are working your body may become stressed by an awkward posture, extreme temperature, or repeated movement or other factors, and your musculoskeletal system is affected. Your body may begin to have symptoms such as fatigue, discomfort, and pain, which can be the first signs of a musculoskeletal disorder.

What is a Musculoskeletal Disorder?

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are conditions that affect your body’s muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. MSDs can develop over time or can occur immediately due to overload.
