Physical Therapy Program

Our core service provides patients over 30 years of combined experience and expertise. We are, first and foremost, a physical therapy practice. We specialize in orthopedics, Neuro Muscular (musculo-skeletal disorders) and sports related injuries and conditions. We treat spine, shoulders, elbows, hands, hips, knees, ankle – foot disorders and all related structures.

Conditions that require physical therapy intervention may derive from degenerative changes, a single or cumulative trauma, overuse or repetitive stress, faulty exercise technique or inappropriate exercise program, bad posture, poor ergonomics or rehabilitation following a surgery. These include, but are not limited to, treatment of arthritis, back and neck pain, chronic pain, herniated discs, strains, sprains, fractures, inflammations, hip, knee and shoulder replacement, arthroscopic procedures, spine surgeries, large scale of sport related injuries and more. Our Network

We work with a large network of established specialists and we would be happy to refer you to them in case we are unable to treat your condition. Ergo Physical Therapy is engaged with top rated doctors, surgeons and hospitals from the New York Metropolitan who have all come to expect that Ergo provides the utmost professional and quality care for their patients.

Ergonomic Work Station Assessment

Unfortunately, many of our patients arrive to our office with already established injuries that, unknowingly, derive from poor ergonomics of their work place. One of Ergo’s specialties is to identify whether your problem may be a result of poor ergonomics. We can assess your work environment and adjust your workplace to best suit you. This assessment is done as a form of treatment or ideally, for prevention. We will provide you with the necessary education regarding this rapidly growing topic, point out any poor postural and movement habits and provide you with a program to correct it. What is Ergonomics?

Ergonomics is the scientific study of people in their work environment. One of the goals of ergonomics is to design the job site or workstation to fit the individual worker. Implementing ergonomic solutions can make employees more comfortable, increase productivity and prevent development and accumulation of related injuries.

Why is Ergonomics Important?

Ergonomics is important because when you are working your body may become stressed by an awkward posture, extreme temperature, or repeated movement or other factors, and your musculoskeletal system is affected. Your body may begin to have symptoms such as fatigue, discomfort, and pain, which can be the first signs of a musculoskeletal disorder.

What is a Musculoskeletal Disorder?

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are conditions that affect your body’s muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. MSDs can develop over time or can occur immediately due to overload.

Athletic Screening

We have developed an athletic screening formula that enables us determine asymmetries, weaknesses and dysfunctions in the athlete’s body that could potentially become an injury or simply reduce or limit their performance. We have successfully screened hundreds of junior and adult athletes both, professional and amateur over the years. Swimmers, tennis, basketball and soccer players, track and field, runners and cyclists have been screened, diagnosed and given personalized and specific programs that enabled them to correct “weak links” and enhance their performance. We work with both teams and individual athletes. To learn more, schedule an appointment or contact us here.
